Lilly Dubis Obituary

ADAMS -- Lilly Dubis, 87, of 3 Myrtle St., died Sunday at home. She was a former longtime co-owner of Bounti-Fare Restaurant.

Born in Boston on May 5, 1920, daughter of Carsten L. and Sophie Abrahams Larsen, she attended schools there and graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1938. She moved to Adams in 1951.

While in Boston, Mrs. Dubis worked for the First National Supermarket chain for many years. A singer and entertainer, she also was employed by the former Midway restaurant before operating Bounti-Fare with her late husband, Frank R. Dubis Sr.

She was a member of First Congregational Church, of the Emblem Club of the North Adams Lodge of Elks and of the Adams Senior Citizens. She enjoyed traveling.

Her husband, whom she married June 23, 1957, died April 26, 1990.

She leaves a son, Craig E. Saunders of Deltona, Fla.; a stepson, Frank R. Dubis Jr. of Adams; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a stepson, Donald Dubis.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Lilly Dubis, who died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, by the Rev. Michael Mullani, pastor of First Congregational Church in Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to First Congregational through the funeral home. Mrs. Dubis also leaves two daughters-in-law, Jua Saunders and Brenda Giles; a stepdaughter-in-law, Virginia Dubis; two grandchildren, Shane Saunders and Tara Heinz; three step-grandchildren, Bradley and Brian Dubis, and Darlene Conroy; two great-grandchildren, Destiny and Jay Timmons; step-great-grandchildren, Erika, Brenae and Braydon Dubis, and Sean, Breanna and Shannon Conroy; a sister-in-law, Beverly Larsen; and a nephew, Donald Larsen. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lloyd A. and Howard W. Larsen, and by a sister, Eleanor Rosato.
