Joan E. Langevin

GREAT BARRINGTON -- Joan Elizabeth Langevin, 57, of Tampa, Fla., died Nov. 6 at Moffitt Center Hospital, Tampa (Fla.) after a short illness.

Born in Great Barrington on March 9, 1950, daughter of Pio Moro and the late Bertha Winters Moro, she was educated in local schools and was a 1968 graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School. After graduation, she moved to Connecticut, and graduated from Naugatuck Community College in Waterbury. There she received degrees in the careers of both a medical secretary and paramedic.

Mrs. Langevin was last employed as a customer service agent for GerdauAmeriSteel Corp. in Tampa. She was also worked for the Metro Call in Mount Laurel, N.J., as a secretary before moving to Florida. Before that, she was employed by Campion Ambulance in Torrington, Conn., as a paramedic for 10 years and by Becton-Dickinsons as a machine operator in Canaan, Conn.

She was a volunteer for the West Cornwall (Conn.) Fire Department for 10 years. in the 1980's. She enjoyed traveling, biking, hockey, reading, and listening to country music.

She was married to Douglas R. Pelletier, of West Conwall, Conn.

Mrs. Moro-Langevin leaves her husband, Paul Langevin, whom she married in 1997.

Besides her husband and father, she leaves a daughter, Heather Pelletier-Reugiot of West Cornwall, Conn.; son, Douglas Pelletier Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; sisters, Patricia Hoffman, Barbara Moro, Teri Fabian, all of Great Barrington, and Kellie Stalker of Pittsfield ; a brother, Pio Moro Jr. of Great Barrington; and four grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A celebration of the life of Joan Elizabeth Moro-Langevin, who died on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington. She also leaves a son-in-law, Mike; a daughter-in-law, Jodi; grandchildren, Alexis, Andrew, Benjamin, and Meagan. Joan will be sadly missed and loved by all whose hearts she touched. She enjoyed visiting her family. Joan loved her family and gave wholeheartedly whenever needed. Always with her big beautiful smile and laugh, she would spread her love and kindness to all.
