PITTSFIELD -- Muriel R. Boyle, 89, of 23B Highview Drive died Friday at the home of her son, Connell A. Boyle of 67 Joan Drive.
Born in Oakland, Maine, on Sept. 13, 1918, daughter of George A. and Leona Martin Rosebush, she was a graduate of Amherst High School and moved to Pittsfield in 1940.
Mrs. Boyle was employed by the former Wyandotte Worsted Co. as a payroll clerk from 1949 until the Pittsfield branch closed in 1963.
She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church and a member of Skyline Country Club.
She and her husband, Connell E. Boyle, were married June 28, 1941, in Stafford Springs, Conn., where Mrs. Boyle's parents had lived. Mr. Boyle died Jan. 16, 1997.
Besides her son, she leaves another son, Kevin D. Boyle of Meredith, N.H.; four grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Muriel R. Boyle died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Charles' Church by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare of the Berkshires in care of DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of arrangements. She also leaves her son Connell's companion, Lorene Burke.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
