NORTH ADAMS -- Dorothy Rita Zoito, 86, of 97 Wells Ave. died yesterday at North Adams Commons following a long illness.
Born in North Adams on Feb. 26, 1921, daughter of Clifford E. and Mabel Ryan Brosseau, she was raised by her father and stepmother, Mary Duverney Brosseau LeFebvre after the death of her mother. She was educated in North Adams schools.
Mrs. Zoito was a homemaker. In her younger years, she was employed by the former Hoosac Cotton Mills on Union Street
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church.
She and her husband, Andrew Paul Zoito Sr., were married June 29, 1940, at St. Anthony's Church. He died April 5, 1993.
Mrs. Zoito leaves a son, Andrew Paul Zoito Jr. of North Adams, with whom she resided; a daughter, Mary Ellen Breen of North Adams; two sisters, Patricia Fix of Williamstown and Loretta Rarick of North Adams; and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Dorothy Zoito, who died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, will be conducted Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 64 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. Mrs. Zoito leaves two grandchildren, Jennifer Breen Kirsch and her husband, Daniel Kirsch, of Lanesborough, and Christian Breen of Anchorage, Alaska, and a son-in-law, Peter Breen. A sister, Mary Germaine, and a brother, Clifford LeFebvre, are deceased. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker for her family.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
