An inspiring and loving man has passed! May your memory, Bruce, be an inspiration to us all! Very sad to miss your passing, dear Bruce! You went out as I turned the double nickel, I hope my day of joy gave you wings to soar free! You were always jovial and nurturing in the face of being called upon, inspiring all to give their best efforts to our fellows, instead of even the slightest complaints. My heart is forever blessed by your memory, as though an image of you stood on the hearth of warm love!

Bruce was one of those special people who changed students' lives and gave them hope for the future. He also made the environment at Weston High School one where students, faculty and staff were challenged and reached for excellence. My sympathies and thoughts are with his family.

Simply one of the finest educators I have ever encountered. He made my years at Weston High a wonderful experience. He will be missed.

Bruce was a "teacher's teacher". He remained focused on the students and teachers, even though he was the high school principal. Bruce even volunteered to teach a course himself, even though he was a fulltime administrator! A wonderful human being!

Having graduated in 1981, the years since have given me both perspective and a chance to weigh the value of the people I came in contact with at Weston High School. Mr. MacDonald was a true inspiration to me as a young man. He was bright, caring and could impart a hunger for learning like no one else I met in High School. I am sure that there were 100's like me who felt the same. My deepest condolences and heartfelt appreciation for his life and efforts.

Bruce had a way of nurturing others that made you want to work hard to show your best. He was an avid reader and always had something interesting to say. He was a world traveler and experienced a full life. Bruce was someone who worked on sustainability before it became the in thing but that was more his Scottish frugal side showing through. Although frugal he was never cheap he was always ready to help out.
Bruce was a true American, open to all cultures and people, a true man of faith he included others and he had many friends. I was lucky to be one of them.
