Ann Oteri Obituary

Of Norwell, passed away peacefully on March 27, age 76, surrounded by her loving family. Ann had courageously battled with diabetes. Born in Dorchester in August 1931. Daughter of former Boston Fire Chief, the late Leo Driscoll and Mary (Mooney) Driscoll. Ann attended Boston Teachers College and graduated at the top of her class. She married her husband, Joseph in 1953. Ann taught for many years in the Boston school system before retiring to raise her only child, Paula. Ann was very active in her community, she volunteered for Rosie's Place and Meals on Wheels. She devoted her life to her family and was a mother figure to all of her nieces and nephews. She was affectionately called AAA, Awesome Aunt Ann. She was a generous, kind, loving influence to all who know her. Loving wife of Joseph S. Oteri. Devoted mother of Paula (Oteri) Mulcahy and her husband Paul of Wakefield. Grandmother of Jacklyn Ward, Catherine Rose Mulcahy, Andrew Oteri Mulcahy. Sister of Kathleen (Driscoll) Heiler and her husband Lee of Norwell, the late Dorothy (Driscoll) Keating and Leo Driscoll. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, SCITUATE on Tuesday, April 1st at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate at 11 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Scituate. Visiting hours Monday, 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Norwell Visiting Nurse Assoc., 91 Longwater Circle, Norwell 02061. As time passes we hold to our hearts the fond memories of the time and people who have been part of our lives. I remember summer weeks in Braintree, the times on Wings Neck and skiing in Waterville Valley. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

Joe and Paula, I'm sorry to here of Ann's passing and my thoughts and prayers are with you both. I have so many childhood memories of Ann and the two of you and have wondered over the years how you all were. Ann was such a loving, caring person to everone whose life she touched and she will no doubt be missed by so many. Her love will be forever in my heart,.
