Elizabeth Knight Obituary

71, of Newington, NH, died on January 26, 2008 of cancer. In her teens she was an active figure skater. Her love of the mountains where she practiced led her and her husband to Montana and the renovation of The Pollard Hotel. She also loved the water; sailing and snorkeling on Cape Cod and Tortola. Mrs. Knight is survived by her husband David of Newington, her mother Pearl Thurston and sister Laura Sullenberger both of Oklahoma, her daughter Elizabeth Sutherland, and her sons Andrew, Fred, and Philip Knight, and nine grandchildren. A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, she graduated in 1958 from Radcliffe College, where she met her husband of 50 years. She worked as school librarian in Sherborn, MA to be near her children, and later as Continuing Medical Education Coordinator for Boston University. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on May 3, 2008 at the Unitarian Church, 11 Washington St., Sherborn, MA. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing in Ann's memory to Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, 10 Brookline Place-West, Brookline, MA 02445. All funds go to cancer research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, not just for children but for all of us. The funds are also credited to a team of Ann's friends who will be walking the Marathon course on September 21, 2008.
