Dear Lynne, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I was unable to attend the services as I was out of town that week. Our love and sympathy to you and the family. Gail McGrail

John's smiling and welcoming expression is forever in my mind's eye. I can recall from my earliest age, taking a trip out of the city and to Maynard"country" to visit Aunt Teresa, Uncle Hucka, Cousins John, Terry, and Tod - wonderful family dinners and house-sitting in the summer. We had fun riding horses and mini-bikes, fishing in ponds, playing in creeks, climbing trees, and I remember the bonfires and fireworks in the field. For a city kid, this was a special and rare treat -- we were very lucky to have the Holmes' as cousins. They opened their hearts and home to us and made us feel welcome. John was central to this. As a "big kid" he was cool and a role model to look up to – a good older brother figure for us. Though he was a bit older than us, he was always good to us and made us feel special. I am very sad that I cannot attend the services and be there to support the family, but I will always remember John and his family in my thoughts and prayers. He is a special person in our hearts, and we are all better human beings for having shared so much with him. My deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Holmes family.
God Bless.

Dear Lynne & all the Holmes family,
So sad to hear the news, holmesy is an awesome guy. I feel lucky to have been with him this past year, to the Pats game with you and the Mt. Washington Hike with the boys.

I worked with John as part of the northeast sales team for Air Products. He was a good friend and always spoke of his wife and family which he adored. John was extremely knowledgeable and well respected in our industry. We worked out together on business trips and I always admired his athletic ability.
I will miss him.....

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
