Dr. Okamura,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in North Africa during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Dear Mrs. Okamura & Family, Please accept my heartfelt sympathy at the loss of Dr. Okamura. I was his secretary from 1970 to 1975 at Retina Associates. He was always kind to me & patient (this was my first job out of college & in the precomputer age of shorthand dictation; he didn't like using the dictaphone!). He was also generous toward patients who were struggling to pay their surgical bills but who faithfully continued making regular, monthly payments. He delighted in dictating letters to them waiving the balance of their bills. I still have a small monkey pod bowl that he gave me from Hawaii as well as an ivory bracelet that a patient had given to him. I often teased him that I could smell his cigar smoke coming around the corner of the hallway before I could see him! I enjoyed working for him & would probably still be at R.A. except that I was inspired by him to become a nurse! God Bless you all, Judy (Obear) Gessler

Dear Mrs. Okamura and Family,
Please accept our sincere sympathy at your great loss. We miss you even though we mainly had a waving acquaintance.
