We will always be in debt to Paul making the arrangments to the Galapagos - for the memories of the trip but more importantly for making new friends. Our prayers go out to the whole family.

Dear Joanie and family -
I have had the pleasure of Paul's friendship since 1994 when I joined Gateway Camera Club. I remember Paul as a quietly humorous man who had a real talent for photography. One way I will remember Paul is through his beautiful balloon images. He has left a true legacy to his children and grandchildren. May he rest in peace and may his family be comforted in their loss.

Dear Joni, Andrea and Nanci;
I was so saddened this morning when I opened my email (having been out of the office on Friday) and saw yours, Joni, that Paul had lost his battle with cancer. My heart is heavy for your (much too soon) loss; I know all too well how hard it is to lose your husband and father to this horrible disease. The only blessing is that he is no longer in pain and he's at peace now, as I hope you all will be, too. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Sue

Dear Joni,
Paul was a good friend to me, both at Gateway and BWPS. He helped me with my amature photography
skills compared to his. May he have a glorious rainbow balloon ride now.

Joni,
I was so saddened to hear about Paul's passing. He was a wonderful photographer. I will always remember his willingness to help me with my photography. He was devoted to our camera club and everyone looked up to him for his expertise and willingness to help others.
Paul will truely be missed. My deepest sympathy to you and your family

Dear Joni,
I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I remember Paul at Chatham years ago, during the agency retreat. The two of you went out together--Paul with his camera--in search of beautiful scenery and nature. What a great way to embrace life.
Take care,
Carol

Dear Joni, Andrea, Greg, Sarah, Jeff, Nancy and family,
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the loss of Paul. He was a man of great character and strength and I know how hard he fought. He is now free of pain and at peace. My sincerest and deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Herson family. Paul was a great man, loving and kind to all, especially his love for his grandchildren. I have known Paul & his family for many years, and have enjoyed being part of their family during the holidays, even though I am not a relative, just a friend. May Paul rest in peace. His love for his family & friends will never vanish. He will be watching us and guiding us, even though he is not here physically. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I learned to be a wise guy from the best of them! Thanks Paul!

I will never forget Paul's larger then life persona during our trip to Greece where I met Paul and Joni. To Erika and I, he was Tony as he sounded like Tony from the Sopranos, but we also called him dad, as he and Joni were like our mom & dad on our trip. Thanks for all the laughs and memories, and I will always have the pictures to remind us of 17 great days spent with you! You are now in heaven as another special angel looking down on us. Hope you have a chance to meet up with my mom up in the heavens and that you both look down upon us with smiles!
Lots of love, and you'll be missed!

Joni, I was sorry to hear about Paul. He was a good man and a good photographer. Whatever he was interested in he gave it his best and then some! And photography was certainly one of his happiest and creative passions!
I know words cannot soothe a great deal, but always remember the good times and the fun times. Memories do help ease the pain.
