Anita Gunning Obituary

61, of Brighton, died on June 19, 2008, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Anita was born and raised in Falmouth and graduated from the Dana Hall School in 1967. After graduating from Bryant & Stratton College, Anita embarked on a career in business and was a Tax Examiner with the IRS at the time of her death. Anita was a very gifted gardener and maintained a plot at the Boston Community Garden for many years, where she grew a variety of flowers, as well as vegetables, which she used in cooking special gourmet dinners for family and friends. Anita is survived by her beloved mother, Anita H. Gunning of Falmouth and her brother, Robert Gunning from Singapore and many loving friends. Her smile and caring nature will be deeply missed by all her had the privilege to know Anita. A Memorial Service will be held at the King's Chapel Parish House, 64 Beacon St., Boston at 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 2, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1115 W. Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02301.
