Boppa,
Honestly, I cannot believe that you are gone. I consider myself blessed to have had a grandfather like you...A "good" man, with values and meaning in life. A man that survived what most don't and a man that kept learning from life until the very end. A man that was not just "smart" but a man that had knowledge as well as compassion for life and everything in between. Lastly, of course, a man that I was proud of and a man that I hope to have made proud.
I have so many memories of you that I keep close to my heart, and always will. You and Nanny spent so much of your time bringing Mike and I up to Harpswell all those summers and those are the times that I will never forget. Like the summer that I had to learn my state capitals, and you helped me and quized me that whole summer, and boy did I have my capitals down by the time school started back up.
Your inspirational to me Boppa, and always have been. Thank You.
Rest easy... you will be missed.
Your Loving Granddaughter,
Heather Weiler

Well Daddy I read Through the Little Green Door so I am going to keep remembering all those things; like fishing in Coventry Vt. after you taught school, riding on those bumpy roads all over the Northeast Kingdom, skiing at Sugarloaf, visiting Escort Station, the beach, the Trout Club, and going anywhere to find your "students" coming up to say hi to Mister Logan, because you were their favorite substitute teacher!
You shot all our stuck stuff out of the tree, scared us in the tent, and drew wonderful pictures in the sand.
I love you and will miss you.
Your baby girl,
Heather

Will, I remember the day you brought your grandfather to school. He was a gracious and accomplished man. Accept my sympathy.
