Dr. Peter E. Barry

Age 77, of Cumberland Foreside ME, formerly of Newton, MA, died on Saturday, July 5, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. He was born December 7, 1930 in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Eduard and Charlotte Barry. He and his family moved to the United States in 1937, and settled in Manhasset, NY. Dr. Barry was a graduate of Columbia University and Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. The famous Dr. Barry had many passions in his life, including his family and patients, followed closely by the New York Yankees, opera music, reading, and the misty mountains at Highland Lake in Bridgton, Maine. Peter is survived by his wife Pamelia (Hanson) and his children, Elliott and his wife Bonnie of Manchester, NH and, and Nicole (Barry) Dorn and her husband Kevin of Boston, MA, as well as his granddaughters, Ella and Macie Barry. He is also survived by his sister Rosemarie (Barry) Fischer and her husband, Anthony of Chatham, MA. He was a beloved son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed by all those who were honored to be a part of his life. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 12, at the First Parish Congregational Church, 116 Main Street, Yarmouth, ME. Burial will be private. Family and friends are welcome to the Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME on Friday, July 11, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm for visiting hours.
