Tom Morse Obituary

A dedicated father, musician, therapist and entrepreneur, died in Boston on July 12 at the age of 58. The second son of Dorothy and William Morse, he was raised in Arlington and spent his early life playing music all over the Northeast. After earning a masters degree in social work at Michigan State University, he worked for several years in psychiatric hospitals in Northern California and Massachusetts, then in 1992, started Psychiatric Disability Consultants Inc. Ten years later, he sold that business, returned to clinical therapy, and developed a highly successful private practice focusing on children and teenagers. Toms undying infatuation for songwriting, his guitars, concerts, and immense record collection propelled his charming intellect, and infectious high spirits. He raised his two daughters, Julie and Erin, on his immeasurable love for music. His daughters' happiness was his life's sole ambition, and he leaves behind, in addition to them, his father William, his brother Bill, his sister-in-law Mary, his sister Deborah, his brother-in-law Kevin, five nieces, two grand-nephews, and his fiance Shelley Hughes. There will be a celebration of Tom's life on Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of NORTHAMPTON.
