Dear Palumbo Family-
I just wanted to tell you all what a gift it was taking care of your mom and meeting all of you. Anita was one of those wonderful women on Bigelow 7 that we learn strength, courage and love from everyday. Though she was technically our "patient", it felt many times that she was the one caring for us, "her girls" and who was always there to give us a good laugh...(she always knew exactly when you needed one!) I will truly miss taking care of her and seeing you all walk onto the unit with your friendly faces. Anita has left an imprint on my heart forever - she will be truly missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.

I will always remember Anita for her quick wit, laugh and smile on her face. She has been missed here at the State Police since she retired. She gave real meaning to the word "lady" and she was a true professional. I always remember her stories about her family and their trips to Foxwoods. What a riot she could be!
It is such a sorrowful time for the family, but I know that you all have very fond memories of her, that will live on forever.
Please know that she was loved at the State Police by everyone also!

Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Although the upcoming days, weeks and months will be difficult, may you find some comfort in knowing your mom was loved by so many people. When I think of her, I'll remember her keen wit and her infectious smile. I'll smile too, knowing how very lucky I was to call her my friend. God Bless Anita!

Anita took care of us when we were injured, line of duty, she made the paperwork go away & was always there with a helping hand, a radiant smile & quick of wit, a truly beautiful person, inside & out. I was lucky enough to have met her in 1979 & always held her as special. I last spoke to her in 1994 & she never changed through the years. She has now gone home to rest & be taken care of as she did for so many of us. Our sincere condolences to her family, Anita was very special to a number of us & we thank you for sharing her with us.

With a long sad pause and sigh, I will truly miss my buddy from HR, Anita (Chickita) Palumbo. She was always there with a glint in her eyes, a smile on her face and wise words or a joke to lighten the mood!
She did have a keen sense of humour and always smiled and laughed when relating stories, with pride, of her kids and grandkids, especially~!~
She was a real rock!
May your wonderful and happy memories from better times, bring you through these rough times and know that she loved you dearly.
Sincerely, Kelly DeWolfe

To the Family and Friends of Anita,
The members of the Massachusetts State Police send their deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences for the loss of Anita Palumbo.
The Massachusetts State Police has lost a "True Friend." Ms. Anita Palumbo, Human Resources/Line of Duty Coordinator dedicated her life to taking care of the Line of Duty injured officers."
She was our "Guardian Angel of Paperwork" for solving the paperwork logjam of the state bureaucracy.
Anita was the "Oil" which kept the massive paperwork machine running.
It was just sixteen (16) days ago that we received the sad news from another "Guardian Angel" at Human Resources, Kelly DeWolfe, that Anita had been admitted to the Mass. General Hospital and her condition was very serious.
It is so ironic that Anita who took care of so many would suddenly be taken from us.
We have all lost a True Friend.

I worked closely with Anita at State Police GHQ. She was always a funny, upbeat and kind person. Her sense of humor was always so quick and keen. After her retirement, the place just wasn't the same. She'd come back for our Christmas parties, and the place would light up when she walked into the room. I so looked forward to those parties, knowing that she would be with us, cracking us all up with her little remarks and jokes.
I was so sorry to hear that she had passed away. I shall miss the anticipation of her coming back to visit us. However, her lively spirit lives on in all of us. Her great whit and sense of humor will be missed. It was a pleasure to have known Anita and to have worked with her. God bless you Anita, you were a great woman.
Love,
Celeste

To the Family and Friends of Anita,
The members of the Massachusetts State Police send their deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences for the loss of Anita Palumbo.
The Massachusetts State Police has lost a "True Friend." Ms. Anita Palumbo, Human Resources/Line of Duty Coordinator dedicated her life to taking care of the Line of Duty injured officers."
She was our "Guardian Angel of Paperwork" for solving the paperwork logjam of the state bureaucracy.
Anita was in charge of making sure all the paperwork was submitted correctly so that the medical caregivers who treated the injured officers from Injuries on Duty were paid. Her service goes back to when the paperwork was truly paper.
Many of us owe Anita for our speedy recovery from injuries that occurred on duty. She made sure the Troopers received the best of care.
The list of officers that Anita Palumbo helped over the years number in the THOUSANDS. She knew every officer's name, their injuries, which Doctor and what Hospitals took care of them.
Anita was the "Oil" which kept the massive paperwork machine running. When Anita retired several years ago, many of us shuttered.
We were losing our "Guardian Angel" who guided us through the labyrinth of medical billing from Line of Duty injuries.
Not surprising, Anita had trained those who took over her duties and the transition was smooth and the Troopers continued to receive top-notch treatment but it was not the same.
It was just sixteen (16) days ago that we received the sad news from another "Guardian Angel" at Human Resources, Kelly DeWolfe, that Anita had been admitted to the Mass. General Hospital and her condition was very serious.
It is so ironic that Anita, who took care of so many, would suddenly be taken from us.
The Lord must have needed a kind, compassionate person to solve a few problems with the paperwork in Heaven.
We have all lost a True Friend.
