Casey Washburn Obituary

Age 24, Beloved son of Ken and Kerry Washburn, brother of Melissa Capuano Leone of Swampscott and Peter Capuano of Charlottesville, VA., died of a drug overdose on July 24th. He was much loved by his grandmother Marie Washburn, and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, friends and the family dog, Virgil. Casey will be remembered for his quick wit, big heart, and sense of humor. He was kind and hopeful to the very end. Ever hopeful, he was a good friend. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9AM from the Solimine, Landergan And Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Rte 1A) LYNN, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Swampscott at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 3-8PM. The family wants donations to be made to the Casey Washburn Memorial Fund c/o Eastern Bank, 405 Paradise Rd., Swampscott, MA 01907, charitable contributions dedicated to addiction recovery. I am very sorry to hear about the death of your son. I have been there and know the heartbreak that the whole family has gone through and wish you all well. I am also grateful that you put the real reason of his passing. People need to know what is happening and hopefully nobody else will have to go through the pain. God will take care of him.
