Laurette Caruso Obituary

88 years, died on Wednesday, August 6th, surrounded by her family at her home in Saugus. She was the loving wife of Leonard M. Caruso with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Ludger & Mary (Oullette) Painchaud. Mrs. Caruso & her husband owned and operated a real estate, building & management company, Caruso Home Stylists Inc. for 40 years. They owned and operated rental apartments, condos, houses & strip malls in Melrose, Malden, No. Reading, Wakefield & Saugus. Mrs. Caruso & her family also developed and marketed subdivisions throughout the North Shore. Her hobbies included playing the piano daily, picking up any song by ear. She loved dancing, she and her husband ran dances in Malden at the Palais Hall for over 10 years during the late 40s & early 50s. She also enjoyed conversing in French with her sisters. Mrs. Caruso leaves one daughter, Michelle Moretto and her husband Albert of West Peabody; one son, Leonard Caruso III and his wife Janet of No. Reading; 3 grandchildren, Monique, Rene & Shannon; 5 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by 13 siblings of which she was the youngest in the Painchaud family. A funeral will be held from the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Thursday, August 14th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus at 10:30 a.m. Relatives & friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Entombment Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.

To the Caruso family, let me express my deepest sorrow upon hearing of Laurette's passing. I have the fondest memories of being in her home and seeing her vivacious piano playing while singing along. Such a wonderful woman. She is an angel among us all.
