Hemmie was a spectacular woman! She was my role model-a loving, surrogate mother to my daughter, Lauren, a wise teacher and caring friend for Jim and me. Having Hemmie in my life was invaluable. Knowing that she loved my daughter and would care for her as if she was her own, allowed me to have a career and be a parent in a way that would have been impossible without her. I will forever be thankful that Hemmie played such a major role in my life! She will be missed and always loved.
