Ruth was one of the most amazing woman and hardest working mothers I've ever known. Truly unselfish and an inspiration to me and all. I'll always think of you, Mrs. Hawkins... whenever I see a clothesline! With Love, Pam

To Ruth’s family, we extend our deepest sympathy and love to you at this difficult time. She loved all of her children and her grandchildren so very much. Ruth was not only a member of our extended family, but holds a special place in my heart as well. When I was a young mother and had to go back to work and leave my daughter, it was such a comfort to know that she was loved and cared for by Ruth. During those times, I was often unsure of myself and Ruth offered guidance, advice and sometimes a “push” if I needed it! She had her routine down pat and her special formula of that “no nonsense style” mixed in with that dry sense of humor and that “tell it like it is” matter of fact way that I so appreciated and loved. She raised a large and wonderful family and the fact that she would even want to watch other people’s children always amazed me. She had the knack and she did it for as long as she could, which was much longer that most of us “mere mortals”! She was loved and will be missed and will always hold a special place in my heart. May you all cherish your special memories of her and my sincere hope is that she is at peace with her beloved Jack.
With Love and Deepest Sympathy,
