My dearest Grandmother, I sit here and still can not believe you are no longer with us. My heart now has a void. I will miss our long talks together and our beauty sessions at your house I always knew I had a place to go when my life seemed a little crazy and you would ALWAYS be there with your soothing words and some macaroni and meatballs and everything would be alright again. Do not worry about grandpa we will all take care of him(maybe not the way you did but almost as good!) So until we meet again, I miss and love you forever! Your granddaughter Valerie

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
