Carolyn Sferra Obituary

77 of Stow and Wayland, formerly of Bronxville, NY died peacefully on August 25, 2008. Beloved daughter of the late Albert F. Wilson and Loret (Smith) Wilson and step-daughter of the late Grace D. Wilson. Devoted wife of the late Captain Gennaro E. Sferra. Loving mother of Kathleen Sferra and her husband James Salvie of Stow. Caring aunt to Richard Birkins of New Jersey; Wendy Birkins Farr and Cheryl Doehrr both of North Carolina and Jeffrey Birkins of Minnesota. Dear friend and companion to the late Lucius Gouaux of New York. A graduate of Marymount College, Carol traveled extensively in the US and overseas with her husband, a Captain in the US Air Force. After his death in 1962, Carol was employed at Mayer and Meyer in New York. Carolyn's strength and independence were admired by many. Services are private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Carol's memory may be made to the Friends of the Council on Aging's Outreach Fund, 130 Great Rd, Stow, MA 01775 or to the Stow Conservation Trust, PO Box 397, Stow, MA 01775. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home of Wayland.
