Francis Hart Obituary

84, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Braintree and West Yarmouth, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by the loving touch of his family on August 29, 2008. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years Louise (Rochon), his son, Francis J. Hart of Quincy and his children, Bridget, Alyssa and Richard, his son, William S. Hart and his wife, Linda of Middleboro, and their children, Jennifer, Emily, Timothy and Jacqueline, his son, Donald P. Hart and his wife, Joanne, of Abington and their children, Donald, Megan and Bryan, his son, James E. Hart and his wife Debra of Saugus and their children, Christopher, Alicen and Rebecca, his son, Daniel R. Hart and his wife, Kathleen, of Sagamore Beach and their children, Stephanie, Ashley and Katelyn and his daughter, Karen M. McGreal and her husband, Michael, of Dedham and their children, Michael and Christopher. He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. Frank was the son of the late Francis A. Hart and Mary Catherine (Kiernan) Hart and brother of the late Mary Hart and Alice Cronk. He was born and raised in Hyde Park and graduated from Charlestown High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, aboard the U.S.S. Hornet CV-12 in the South Pacific. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 103, in Boston for sixty years and served for several years as its Vice-President. He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Braintree Chapter and a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus. Funeral from the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin St., (Rt.37) BRAINTREE, Wednesday, September 3 at 9:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Clare, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree Highlands at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the funeral home Tuesday 4-8 pm. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham MA 01701.

Mr. Hart,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country you served with the USN in the Pacific during WW II aboard the Hornet. The Hornet saw continous combat as part of Task Force 58 from March of 1944 through to VJ Day in 1945 and earned seven battle stars and a Presidential Unit Citation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
