My deepest condolences to the Hammer family. I worked with Michael for many years while I was leading marketing at CSC Index. He was a brilliant, funny and honest man who I admired greatly and who has made a significant and lasting impact on businesses and management theory. More importantly, Michael was clearly a family man who always put his family first - something that great business men aren't always particularly good at. I will miss him and I offer my deepest condolences to all of you.

My sincere condolences to the Hammer family. I'd hired Mike years ago at CIGNA, when he was still looking into processes as related to office automation. I often remember him observing that we should certainly be able to simplify business processes, because, look, "This is NOT nuclear physics." He will be missed by so many.

To the Hammer Family,
I want you to know that Michael was an inspiration to us in our work at Avnet. But more than that he was a friend to those of us who knew him personally and worked with him for years. He was both a brilliant and a good man who changed the world in some very important ways. We will continue to work with the tools he left us. And more importantly we will always be inspired by his vision. Our hearts go out to you his family. Please know that we feel like we are part of another family who will always treasure his memory.
With sincerest sympathy

Dear Hammer Family,
I am so sorry for your loss.
Dr. Hammer truly lived the life of Tikkun Olam through his work and enormous contribution to the business world. I am fortunate enough to have worked in two organizations that were inspired by his teachings and to work with him on the Hammer Consortium. He will be missed by many.

I remember Michael Hammer very well from my years at Index. Athough I was in a support role (graphics), I was privileged to work for him on numerous occasions and knew him well enough to exchange a few friendly words in the corridor. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Michael's passing; it is a great loss for the business world and the for the many people who knew and admired him. My condolences to his family and close friends.

I was a classmate of Michael's at MIT and ate dinner with him at the "Kosher Kitchen" for the years we shared our educational experience. I was shocked to hear of his passing. We had just talked at our 40th reunion about our "fun" times at the Institute. I was proud to know such an accomplished and charitable person.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Michael's untimely passing. I remember him from the two years we spent in Rabbi Kelemer's Tuesday Night Gemora shiur at the YI of Brookline in the 1970's. Later, I learned that he had the foresight to create Edah, whose vision still animates many of us. Yehi Zikhro Barukh. My condolences to his family.
