Robert Earl Sulouff Jr.

SULOUFF, Robert Earl Jr. 58, passed away into the presence of the Lord, to whom he dedicated his entire life, on September 2, 2008 at 10:50 pm in Chesapeake, VA, after living courageously with renal cancer since being diagnosed in 2007. He died peacefully, with his loving family by his side. Robert was born, August 18, 1950 in Lewistown, PA. As a young boy, his family moved to Orlando, FL, where he grew up and at the age of 19, married his wife of 39+ years. In 1971, he was the first BS graduate of UCF: Engineering Program, continuing on to obtain his MS as well. After which he was a pioneer in the MEMS industry, including inventing the first commercial MEMS accelerometers, with his last position being the Director of Business Development/Microma chined Products Division for Analog Devices. He was faithful to Jesus Christ, serving in the church and in missions. He enjoyed Amateur Radio, Woodworking and Astronomy. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Robert & Janet Sulouff, his wife, Genelda, 2 brothers, 4 children, and 5+ grandchildren. The viewing was held Fri. Sept. 5, 7:00-8:30 p.m., at Smith & Williams Kempsville Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Rd. A celebration of eternal life was held 10 a.m. Sat., Sept. 6, at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 5045 Indian River Rd.
