I am one of Diane's Concord book group friends. Over the years we shared and enjoyed many wonderful books and friendship (wine and dessert were a very important ritual at our meetings). I particularly remember one weekend that we spent as a group in Maine, eating lobsters, going for walks by the shore, and just generally enjoying the camaraderie of like-minded women. Diane was an important contributor and had an impressive knowledge of literature, contemporary and historical but we will miss her most of all for her sense of humour, good nature and the courageous way in which she faced serious illness. My condolences to her entire family.
