Bob was a good friend. We spent many days painting together in Vermont and on Cape Ann. He was always encouraging and a good friend and a good sense of humor. I miss him.

Dear Family of Bob Blue,
My Uncle Ed Rutyna hired me on at Jackson & Moreland for the summer of 1956.
I had the pleasure of meeting Bob, and observing the technical work he was doing at that time. For a young inexperienced person everything being done in the department was magical.
I remember Bob as being a person who was patient, taught and encouraged me. In later years Bob visited my Uncle at his camp in Mont Vernon,NH.
While there, he painted a scene of the woodlands on Uncle's property.
After Uncle Ed Rutyna died, I inherited the painting Bob had painted.
We proudly have had it displayed in the dining room of our home for many years.
I remember Bob, critiquing some of my early student work and giving me some very valuable advice about composition and "how to lead the eye of the viewer" into the artwork produced.
This advice was given to my high school art students whenever the class would be painting.
The short summer working with Bob Blue and his advise and critique of my very young work was passed on over and over to my students, for the thirty-five years I taught.
Now in my retirement years I have the time to paint, in that area of Mont Vernon,NH...and think always of Bob's advice given so many years ago.
My wife and have always proudly displayed his work in our home...
I will always think of his kindliness to me...all those many years ago.
In a sense Bob is at my side, every time I go out to paint....
My sympathy to your family at this time.
He made a very special person who made a special impression on me.
