Denise Kennedy Obituary

KENNEDY, Denise M. 58, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, died in her home on September 30, 2008 after a two year battle with cancer. Denise was born in Winchester, Massachusetts, just north of Boston, to Edward J. and Regina A. O'Connell. She moved to Phoenix in 1980, where she worked for the Sperry Corporation. She met her husband Tom at Sperry and they were married on March 26, 1988. They both retired from Sperry/Honeywell in 2005 and moved to Sierra Vista. Denise was a truly spiritual person who inspired everyone she met. She is survived by her husband, Tom; two brothers, Richard O'Connell of Andover, Massachusetts and Ted O'Connell of Peabody, Massachusetts; and two sisters Michele Donohue of Windham, New Hampshire and Regina Merrill of Melrose, Massachusetts. Visitation will be held at Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 S.Highway 92, SIERRA VISTA from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 800 N. Taylor Drive, Sierra Vista at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2008 with Father Gregory Adolf as the celebrant. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Casa de Paz Hospice, 300 El Camino Real, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635. Arrangements are by the Hatfield Funeral Home.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Denise. She really was a very special person and managed to touch everyone she knew in just the way they needed at that moment. I worked with her at Honeywell and she was right there congratulating me and encouraging me when I was chosen to be a bone marrow donor. I will always remember her with a smile. Truly an Angel here on earth and now in Heaven.

Tom and Family - Denise was a true friend. I don't think she ever met anyone that she didn't touch in some special way. She really made a positive impact in this crazy world that we live in. Denise will be dearly missed and will forever live in our hearts until we meet again in heaven.
