Mr. Russell,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations fighting the Japanese during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. The men who served in Burma were some of the unsung heroes during WW II-they served under some of the most toughest conditions-usually understrenth and under equipped in a part of the World that was very hard to get to as well as very rarely reported on by the media at the time compared to Europe and the Pacific.
