It is 2 years tomorrow and I still can't believe you are gone. I wish I could say it gets easier but it seems harder each day without you. To all of my friends who are still lucky enough to have your Mom's with you - please give her a big hug for me today.

Mrs. Burns, I still remember one of Mariellen's slumber parties, where you loaded all us girls into your station wagon and drove us out to Starland to ride the go-carts, patiently putting up with us belting out Wings "Band on the Run" (horribly, I bet) as it played on the radio on the way to Hanover - - then later on, having to listen to us bicker endlessly about who cut who off, who the worst cheaters were, etc etc all the way home to Wollaston- - and fixing us pizza and popcorn once we got there. It seems like it was just yesterday! Time sure flies.. You were a no-nonsense Mom that took such great care of her kids, and everyone else's too. Those piercing bright blue eyes - - in an instant, saw right through any foolishness us kids ever tried to get past you. I will always remember you fondly, and wish you well as you enjoy your well-deserved place among the angels.
Sending my heartfelt condolences to the Burns Family, (especially my old friend from Saint Ann's.. Mariellen)

Your Birthday and Mother's Day recently passed and I wish I had thought to come here then. We were all together last week for Greg's graduation and his Eagle Scout ceremony and the only thing missing was you. He talked about you in his speech, thanking you for always being so interested and proud of his efforts. You would have loved it ~ Actually, I am sure you were there, listening in and smiling as he said it, and as his scout leaders described him as a wry observer of life, with a quick wit and an eagerness to help whenever asked.

Mum, I pick up the phone to laugh with you about something, or have a question no one but you can answer, and realize you are not here with us. I miss you more with each hour that passes!
I love you~

It took a plane, a cruise ship and a helicopter to get there, but Mum and Aunt Mary strapped on their crampons and strutted, as only Dorchester girls can, on this glacier in Alaska!

Mum loved to travel witht her Peggy's. She and Peg McMorrow flew back from this trip to London and Paris aboard the Concorde. Peggy loved to surprise Mum, and she was one of the few who could pull it off.
