Dear Uncle Dick, Paula, Timmy, Michael, Patrick, James, Ted, and all of your families as well as all of the Carews, we are so sorry for your and our loss. The world has lost a very kind and loving woman.

Auntie Barbara was to me (and to John too) like a second mother, and to Jen, like having yet another loving grandmother. I remember so fondly as a kid my visits to the Vineyard where when she took us to the beach as the only girl in the younger crew I always got to sit in the front seat!! As we drove along she would talk to me about psychology and nursing and college; I only recently stopped to consider how profoundly these seemingly innocent conversations must have shaped and impacted my views about my own professional and educational opportunities. I remember too how she would take us to Dairy Queen and whoever had jumped off the bridge first got to order an ice cream sundae!! Long before the Vineyard I remember our many days at Molasses Pond and Schoodic Point in Maine.

Then on to our years at the Jackson Lodge; John and I were just reminiscing with Jen about the many winter weekends we spent in Jackson in addition to the many Thanksgivings and other family occasions there. It occurred to us that while we were out skiing with the cousins Auntie Barbara must have been babysitting for us!!!! :) And the memories go on and on and on….

Her beautiful smile and beautiful eyes will always be remembered, and sorely missed; may God Bless her.

Thanks for the memories!!

Love always,

Peggy & John
