HAMBLETON, Gilbert L. (Col, USAF, Retired), formerly of Hampton Falls, NH, October 7, 2008. Beloved husband of Dorothy L. (Pomerenke). Father of Sharon Fitzpatrick and husband John of Burlington, MA, Michael and wife Janet of Hampton Falls. Brother of Frances Luning of Wenona, IL, and the late Eugene. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Graveside Service Friday at 11 AM in the West View Cemetery, Hampton Falls. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. If desired, donations may be made to the Hampton Falls Free Library, 7 Drinkwater Road, Hampton Falls, NH 03844. He served in the 8th Air Force during World War II. Recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters. Retired in 1965, with nearly 25 years of service as a Veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. So sorry to hear of your loss. I only met him a couple of times, but really liked him a lot, and I just found out we share the same birthday. My father, Harry LeBlanc, allways spoke highly of him, as he flew with him in WWII.
