William Ellery Loring Jr.

LORING, William Ellery, Jr. Of Centerville & Boston. Retired Sears executive; Navy and Army Veteran, died on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Groton School and Harvard University. A Navy and Army Veteran, he was a retired executive of Sears Roebuck Co., Chicago. Mr. Loring was a descendent of William Ellery, who signed the Declaration of Independence. He was an active supporter for Veteran groups, St. Joseph Indian School and Hyannis Senior Center. He is survived by his wife, Joan M., and Blake Adam Bodo; his children, William, III of Duxbury, Susan of Reno, NV, John of Cary, NC, Caroline and Daniel, both of IL and James of FL, stepdaughters, Joan of Marstons Mills, Karen of Hyannisport, Robin of TX and Wendy-Jane of VA; a brother, Thomas B. of Quincy; and 18 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Thatcher, and his sister, Grace. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 1 PM at the Chapel in Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain.
