Robert Whitley Obituary

WHITLEY, Robert T. of Westwood, Retired Boston Police Officer, died Oct. 9th. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Somers) Whitley. Loving father of Kathleen Wisniewski and her husband Kevin Gustavson, Betsy Judge and her husband Dr. James Judge, Mark Thomas Whitley and his wife Donna and Maureen Whitley-Singer and her husband Jeff. Devoted grandfather of Lt. Commander Tarah Somers, Alannah Strelzoff, Elizabeth Schuchard, Dr. Abigail M. Judge, Kathryn C. Judge, Lindsay E. Whitley, Mark Robert Whitley, Kate Singer and Zach Singer. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. (off Route 109), WESTWOOD on Monday Oct. 13th from 3-7 PM. Funeral from the Funeral Home on Tuesday morning Oct. 14th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret Mary's Church at 10 AM. Interment with military honors at New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's memory to The Home for Little Wanderers, Development Department, 271 Huntington Ave., 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02115. Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II. Holden-Dunn-Lawler 781-326-0074

My name is Thomas H. Kirkaldy, husband of the late Kathleen Whitley Kirkaldy, his niece. I remember Robert well. He was a very good man, father and an excellent police detective. I am sure everyone misses him greatly as I miss Kathy. God Bless everyone and stay safe.
