Father Lawrence was one of the best men I ever knew. My mother loved him dearly and regaled us with stories of him, especially about their summers at the lake in New Hampshire. When I got to know him when I was eighteen, you'd have thought he'd known me from birth. He made me and all my brothers and sister feel like we'd always been in his life, he embraced us with no hesitation. We loved his cigars and Philipino dress shirts, his beat up Nova, and most of all his stories. When my mother died, he spent so much time loving and caring for my grandma, you'd have thought she was his mother. He would share with us all sorts of wonderful stories about her in her prime. I was so grateful for his goodness. All three Buckley Boys had that same love of family and it isn't hard to figure why my mother loved them so. I'm sure there's a lot of joy in heaven right now.

To the family of FR. Buckley,
I am sad to hear the news of Fr. Buckley's passing. I have known Fr. Buckley since grade school at
ST. Catherines (Charlestown).
He was my CCD teacher, he married
my husband & I ,he christened all
3 of our children, and did the eulogy at my mothers funeral. He was an exceptional man, his love for
God and his vocation was so admirable. He sent us cards every year and was such a friend to our family. I miss the beautiful cards that he sent, and I will miss his presence on our earth.
With deepest sympathy-

I met Fr. Buckley at St. Catherine of Siena parish where he was for many years. He loved to talk w/my parents and had great respect for my Dad. Fr. Buckley always remembered me every year with my first Christmas card of the season and wishes for the family. I last saw him on his 50th anniversary of becoming a priest, it was like old home week the amount of people who came to share in his joyous day from St. Catherine's. I am deepley saddened by his loss, but know he is in a wonderful place with God & the Blessed Mother and all of the "Townies" he befriended who are waiting in Heaven for him. God bless you & your family during this difficult time, and thank you for sharing Fr. Buckley with us.

Dear Roseann,

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Father Lawrence was truly the best priest I ever met. He gave a wonderful eulogy for my grandpa. I will never forget him and wish there were more like him.

Take care of yourself and know my thoughts are with you.

I can still see Fr. Buckley standing outside of the Mission Church after the Sunday Masses to speak with the people. He wanted to let people know God loved them and both God and Fr. Buckley were pleased they were there. It was that extra effort that made Fr. Buckley a special priest. May he enjoy eternal peace.
