Harold Gray Obituary

GRAY, Harold R. "Harry" Age 69, passed away at his home in Columbus, OH on October 8, 2008. Harold was an engineer, entrepreneur, and founder of H.R. Gray & Associates, a consulting engineering firm headquartered in Columbus, OH. Born January 9, 1939 in Everett, MA he was the ninth of ten children. Growing up in Boston, Harry was an avid supporter of the Boston Red Sox, a passion which he enjoyed throughout his life. Graduate Everett HS Class of1957, where he played varsity football and basketball. He married Suzanne, his wife of 29 years, in Milwaukee and moved to Columbus, OH in 1980, where he became an avid Buckeye fan. He began H.R. Gray & Associates, specializing in construction management. Since that time, his engineering firm has expanded to offices in Akron, Ohio and Austin, Texas, along with other project offices in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Jim Gray and his siblings, Ruth Scott, Carol Lea and Nelson Gray. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne, and their children, Adriane and William of Columbus, OH; Lori (Marc) LaBrecque and their children Eric and Matthew of Las Vegas, NV; Jeffrey of Salem, NH, and Lisa Sorenson of ME. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Jim Gray of California (formerly of Columbus); Richard Gray, Rockport, MA Helen Hammond, Burlington, MA and Phyllis McConchie, Leverett, MA; Jean Goodwin, Essex, CT; Evelyn Jones, Aberdeen, NJ and his special niece, Nancy Scott, Reading, MA; along with many nieces and nephew. Calling hours at Novak Funeral Home. After private internment, a funeral service at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Columbus, OH, on October 14 2008 will be held.
