I went to Westwood high school with Renee. I found her to be outspoken and very much an individual. In times where there are so many followers, I feel as if it was an honor to know her, to question policies and rules that were truly not applicable nor necessary to a great education. Teach your children well, let them speak, and let them be heard. I consider to her not to be a rebellious child, but a leader in the forefront that not all peoples or policies are qualified to bring up our children. Always ask questions, always question the system. That is what America is all about. I will always remember her grin and individualism. These are the folks that make it in life, Compassion for the truth and just...children will be children, and they also have a sincere valid point of view. Call her a rebel at the time. I call her a woman before her time. I was proud to know her as a leader, and not a follower. I promote the path not taken.. I will always remember her spunk and kind smile. True individuals will live on in our hears and never fade away. Her eyes will always stay in my mind. Her truth will always live in my heart. I wish more administration were listening instead of going on the day to day rigid hum drum of "teaching 101". The teachers along the way have lost there way with the simple desire to be "the teacher" . Know your student, know your future. No one can know everything. Recognize a person that reallly could be a catalyst for change, an individual never afraid to express an opinion, at all cost. Here is to you Renee for being a woman child that new better than all.
Peace be with you.
