Daniel Costello Obituary

COSTELLO, Daniel J., Sr. P.E., Consulting Engineer. After battling congestive heart failure for nearly 25 years, Dan passed away on October 15, 2008. He was the son of the late John P. Costello Sr. & Martha Anne Haggerty Costello. He is survived by his loving spouse of 52 years, Julia Rose, & their children: Daniel Joseph, Jr.; Michael Anthony & his wife Julie; Patricia Anne Stone & her husband, Gregory; & Linda Jeanne Zaloudek & her husband, Mark. Dan is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Steven Daniel Zaloudek, Megan Julia Zaloudek, Patrick Lewis Costello, Anna Catherine Costello, Nathan Michael Costello, Spencer Gregory Stone, & Marissa Linda Stone. He is also survived by 3 brothers: John & his wife Marie of Harford, CT.; Edward & his wife Evelyn of Raleigh, NC.; & Thomas of Quincy, MA.; a sister, Mary DeNapoli & husband John of Wrentham, MA.; & many nieces & nephews. Dan was the co-founder of Costello, Lomasney & deNapoli Consulting Engineers in Manchester, NH. He was a life member of many organizations including Brighton Council 121 Knights of Columbus, American Society of Civil Engineers, New England Water Works, & Past President of the New England Chapter of the American Public Works Assoc. All are invited to visiting hours 4 to 7 pm, Sunday, Oct.19, 2008 at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton, MA and the Funeral Mass on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 11 am in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 89 Arlington St., Acton. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers or donations, Dan would like all to consider adopting a daily random act of kindness with a "pass it on" to make this world a better place in which to live. To the Costello Family:Please accept my deepest sympathy.
I had the pleasure of working for Dan in the 1980s at CLD. He was a dedicated engineer who enjoyed life and really cared about his employees. He will be missed but his memory will live on.
