Nana,
I can not believe how much time has passed. I don't know why today I decided to write to you but I felt I needed it. It seems like just yesterday I was sitting in your kitchen talking about the Red Sox with you and Grampy. I write this post with a very heavy heart. While you are reunited with your one true love we are all left with a missing piece. I know Grampy has wanted to be with you for some time now and I am happy to know that you two will be together again. I continue to try not focus on the loss of you both but on the infinite amount of memories we have shared over the years as this what we have now. Neither of you are ever truly gone you are just here in a different form. There is no doubt that I will continue to miss you both each and every day and it will never get easier. I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with you both growing up and feel very fortunate to have that time. Living in the same house for 28 years gave me that ability. I hope that my children will have the same experience as I have had as it shaped me into the person I am today.
I ask you to keep an eye over this family show us you are both here from time to time and keep us all on the right path. Keep grabbing Grampy's arm to keep him in line while saying "Danny", dance the night away as you had so often, enjoy the ice cream, enjoy the casino, and next time the thunderstorms come I know it is you two at your empire lanes bowling league in the sky.
I refuse to end this with a goodbye. It is a word I can no longer use goodbye is to final for me. I will see you later one day when we are reunited.

Happy Easter Ma! The snow is finally gone so we were able to get to the cemetery. The flowers we put there are beautiful just like you. I hope your watching down and seeing all your beautiful great grandchildren. I know how much you loved your grandchildren I feel the same way about Makayla she is the sweetest little girl. I wish she would have been able to know you. I hope you know your in my thoughts everyday. I miss you more than you would know. I love you always!

Happy Thanksgiving Ma! I wish you were here with us. We didn't make any dates this year, it's just not the same without you. I know your watching over us I just wish we had had more time with you. You know how much I love you! You were my mother, my friend and someone I could always count on. It's hard without you.
I know your watching but I want to tell you that Kelly had her beautiful little girl Makayla. You would have loved her she is the sweetest little girl. The love of my life. I promise she will know all about you. I want her to know all about her great grandmother.

Six years hard to believe....I feel you in my heart all the time. I think about you everyday and when something happens I think about how you would feel. I don't think I will ever lose that feeling and I hope I don't. It keeps you close. Their is going to be a new baby soon. I know your watching over, it feels good to know that you are. I wish you could be here for all the new babies. I can only imagine how much you would have loved them all. I only wish they had the chance to know you. We will keep your memory alive we will let them know all about you.

Erin had her baby girl this morning....Madelyn Carol is her name....I know you already know this cause the rose bush is blooming again and I know that is you saying I am here watching over. Grampy is so excited....he was crying and saying I can't believe it...all he could think about is how excited you would be....but I told him that you are right here with us.

Its been two years and not a day goes by that I don't think about you and wish you were still here with us. They say every day will get a little easier. I don't think it gets easier I think it just gets different. Today I can look back and remember what a great life I had with you. All the good times we had together. Today was the Alzheimer's Walk. This was our second year participating in the walk. We are called the Monday Night Crew and we had tee shirts with your name on them. There was a big turn out as usual. Hopefully someday there will be a cure for this disease.

To Uncle Danny & Family,
Aunt Joan will be missed by many, many people. I was so glad to have seen her and spent time with her and the family during her last hours. I will always remember Sunday mornings with my Dad taking me to see her. She would always make me anything I wanted and the tradition continued as I got older with my daughter and my father visiting her. Those are the memories I will treasure.
