I am so sorry to hear about the loss of such a dear friend. I recently learned of the loss of Herbert's passing. He and Olga were great friends and mentors to me and I am saddened by this great loss to your family, myself, my mother Muriel and the community.

May God bless Olga and the family and be with you during this sad time. You are in my prayers, thoughts and heart always. Such dear, sweet, loving people are hard to find and will always be cherished by many who have been touched by your love and generosity. Please accept my sincere condolences and regret for this unreplacebul loss.

Dear Lyken Family,

I was Herb's secretary at UMASS Boston for a few years in the 80s, and he was one of my favorite people in the department. He was as kind and good as he was fair and an excellent professor. He had a certain equanimity and a wonderful sense of humor. Kids were always lined up waiting to talk with him - and he was always generous with his time. I am glad I worked with him.

With sympathy,

Dear Olga and family,
We were sorry to hear of Herb's passing.
We know that he will be missed for his strong voice and presence which made a positive difference in the town of Randolph. Olga, you and Herb were two of the first persons to welcome us when we moved to Randolph over 40 years ago. We will never forget that.

May we all learn from the lessons Herb taught us and may the fond memories of your beloved husband and father give you great comfort.

God Bless
Mary Ellen and Conrad Martin

Herbie and Family
I am so very sorry for the loss of your Dad. I only had the pleasure of meeting him once in person but judging by the character and integrity of his son, he was clearly a wonderful, accomplished, loving example. Such a wonderful man is surely now in a better place and at peace. I pray that this knowledge brings you all some comfort at this difficult time. Know that many thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love, Kate and Family

I will remember his cute smile, his dry sense of humor, and how he always wanted his meds with room temperature water. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.
