Edward Dolan Obituary

DOLAN, Edward Vincent Age 82 years, of Halifax, MA, died October 21, 2008 at his home after long illness. He was the husband of Alice M. (Anderson) Dolan. Born May 22, 1926 in Quincy, he was the son of the late John J. and Mary M. (McCarthy) Dolan. Edward was educated in Quincy Schools, and was a graduate of Suffolk Law School and had lived in Halifax since 1960. He was a retired Attorney, Claims Adjustor and was a Thoroughbred Horse owner, trainer and breeder. He also was an author and published two books a nonfiction on cable TV and a novel "A Tine For Us". In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother Arthur J. Dolan and his wife Kay of Sandwich; a sister Marjorie Doolin of Quincy; two brothers-in-law Arthur D'Angelo of Quincy and Robert F. Murphy of Harwich; 29 nieces and nephews, 32 grandnieces and nephews and several great grand nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late John Dolan, Anne D'Angelo, Marie Murphy, Bernice Dolan and Frank Dolan. Visitation will take place on Friday from 5-8 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., LAKEVILLE, MA. A Graveside Burial will take place on Thursday Oct. 30 at 1:15 PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, P.O. Box 3387, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Aunt Alice, Uncle Ed is the best. I will sadly miss him every day, every Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for his jokes, laughter and just being there as my Uncle and friend. I love you both very much.
