William Marini Obituary

MARINI, William E. "Boston Globe Mailer" died Friday, October 24, 2008 peacefully at home surrounded by his family & friends after a long illness. He was 73 years old. He was the beloved husband of Betty A. (Johnson) Marini. Born and raised in Quincy, lived in Holbrook, for 32 years before moving to Abington 18 years ago. He was also a resident of Holmes Beach, FL. He was the son of the late Anthony & Mary Belle (MacBeth) Marini. Mr. Marini served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, worked for The Boston Globe as a Mailer & was a member of the Boston Mailers Union, Local #1 for many years. Be was also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed traveling to FL & Prince Edward Island, Canada, to visit family & friends. Mr. Marini is survived by his son William J. Marini and his wife Deborah I. of Abington. He is the father of the late Dennis A. & Steven E. Marini. He is the grandfather of Anthony W. & Laura A. Marini of Abington. Brother of Neil F. Marini of Weymouth & the late John A. Marini. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral Services in the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St., (Rte. 37), HOLBROOK, Tuesday at 10 AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in William's memory may be made to the Old South Union Church Scholarship Fund 25 Columbian St., Weymouth, MA 02190.
