June Colombosian Obituary

COLOMBOSIAN, June Tevan Named for the beautiful month of her birth and born on that first day in 1934 in Portland, Maine. She was the daughter of the late Haik and Alice (Asadoorian) Tevan. Raised and educated in her hometown, her love of learning culminated in a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching at the University of Maine at Gorham. Following graduation, she pursued her ambition and taught in Portland, Maine, Haverhill and Andover, MA. The wife of the late John Colombosian, co-owner of the Colombo Yogurt in Andover. Beloved mother of Jill Colombosian Hachigian and Michael Colombosian. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Lea, Amy and Alina Hachigian and Talia and Alex John Colombosian; two sisters: Gloria Tevan (Lawrence, MA) and Eleanor Demirjian (Longmeadow, MA); brother Corey Tevan (Rockport, MA) and many adoring cousins, nieces and nephews. June was a longstanding member of the Holy Cross Armenian Church of Lawrence, MA, and it's Women's Guild, and the Andover Historical Society. She was an enthusiastic gardener and avid reader, who often shared books and her joy of reading with her grandchildren. But she was most happy spending simple times with her family and cooking with her grandchildren. June was a very special person with deep family and community ties. She will be dearly missed, never forgotten and leaves behind a legacy that will proudly follow in her footsteps. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated in St. Gregory the Illuminator Church, 110 Main St., Haverhill, Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 11 AM. Interment Spring Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main St., ANDOVER, Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be make to the The Armenian Church at Hye Pointe, P. O. Box 8069, Ward Hill, MA 01865.
