Mrs. O'Meara, Nancie and Beth -

Dear Mrs O'Meara, Nancie and Beth,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Your father was a wonderful man, always joking and smiling. He always made me feel very comfortable in your home and he never minded when I called him Sam Donaldson. I can't help but feel guilty because now he knows that half of Nancie's friends learned how to drive in his old blue Chrysler New Yorker. I hope you are all able to find peace in this difficult time. You are in my prayers.
Love, Joan (Howard) Fitzgerald

Mr. O'Meara is a much loved and respected man who will always be in our hearts and minds. Thoroughout my childhood I remember Mr. O'Meara as the fun loving and nurturant father of one of my best friends and like a father to us all. He adored his children and enjoyed all of us in the neighborhood who weren't his children, but he treated us like his own. He was so funny and loved to tease us, using the clever nicknames he created for all of us. He truly spoiled us taking us with them on family vacations, Red Sox games, and being forever available to pick us up from movies and other outings when we were youth. He always watched over us and was always there. Mr. O'Meara could be found everywhere in the community. If he wasn't downstairs strategizing lottery winnings with his loyal dog "Ginger" by his side or out in the backyard, he would be reading at church or dining at local restaurants. Mr. O'Meara was a genuine, constant, and dependable community man who contributed so much on a daily basis. To be in his presence and to engage with him was a true joy whether you were 5-years-old or 40-years-old. He was always smiling but his amazing gift was that he could always make you smile. That was his essence and why he was loved by all. And we know that he is smiling with us.

Dear Kay, Beth and Nancie,
Dick and all three of you are in our thoughts and prayers. It's been just a few years since we last saw you - and who would have thought that we old folks would survive "little Dick". He has been not only a cousin, but a good and kind and joyful friend to both of us.
I apologize that I had to abbreviate our phone conversation when Beth called with the sad news yesterday, but I truly had to hurry to get to a doctor's appointment.
Our love to all of you!

Kay, Nancy and Beth,
My deepest condolences. All of us Murgia kids cherished Dick as much as any of Dad's friends. I'm sure somewhere in heaven Dick and John are shouting "Fight fiercely, BC!" in high-pitched falsettos.

Dear Mrs. O'Meara, Nanacy and Elizabeth,
I too have such fond memories from my youth of us all getting together. I mostly recall laughing until my sides hurt when ever Mr. O'Meara would do or say anything! Such a joyful spirit will be sadly missed by so many ;-( Be comforted during these days and know that our loving thoughts are with you all...
