Sister Cabrini was a wonderfully dedicated teacher who truly enjoyed teaching. Like other students, I felt special because she cared so much about my education and about me. When I got my first job, the hiring manager was so impressed with my Oakridge labs TN training, he hired me on the spot. When I was accepted to Boston University graduate program, I introduced myself to the faculty and their first comments were "oh, we know all about you- Sister Cabrini phoned us to provide a glowing reference." How grateful I was to have her guiding me through my education. After Sister retired, it was easy for me to remain close to her since the Bethany Health Care center was a short walk from my house. The first year of her arrival, my kids and I visited her routinely and she even tutored them. When I would visit, she would recall every one of her students, first graders to Regis graduates and she was knowledgeable about science and the various biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies that were hiring Regis graduates. She spoke often of her years as a first grade teacher, her education, and of her family, especially her mother. She had been raised by a devoted loving family and gave a lot of love in return. On one visit earlier this year, I asked Sister what she thought about and she told me that she thought about all the good times and that she was thankful that she wasn't in any pain. To my surprise, I visited Sister Cabrini on the last day of her life and was so grateful that I had a chance to say good bye, to tell her how much I loved her and how lucky I was to have her as my guiding light all the years. I talked about what a great teacher she was and how wonderful she was to escort the Regis students to Oakridge all those years. I know that Sister was ready to go and see her mom and her other family members who had passed away. I will always remember Sister Cabrini as a special teacher and a life long friend and I will miss her very much.

Sister Cabrini, just the mention of her name recalls a particularly challenging Bio lecture in 1981 when she spun around and said to the class, 'You are in the valley and I am on top of the mountain trying to get you to see what I see. How many see?' I will forever remember her passion and tenacity in teaching every student to see.

I was blessed to have Sister Cabrini as my first grade teacher at Saint Anthony's School in Allston in 1947. She loved every student and touched so many lives as their initial role model, outside of one's family, as a positive influence on what it meant to be a Catholic.

We received a Christmas card every year " Buon Natale" updating us on her life beyond first grade, as a professor at Regis College, which she dearly loved as well , with her class trips to Tennessee, so enthusiastic about her students.

I know that she is enjoying her Heavenly reward now, remembering all those who lives she touched.

My condolences to her family and congregation of Sisters of Saint Joseph.

Gratefully,

Ann L. Angelli

Sister Cabrini was a beautiful nun
and will be missed by all. She was a wonderful teacher and made biology
interesting and fun and unforgetable. My daughter, Susan
and I both enjoyed her classes.
She is now at peace with the Lord.

Sister Cabrini was an inspiration and one of the best teachers I've ever had -- so dedicated to the study of science and, more importantly, to her students. Even after college, I was fortunate to continue to benefit from her guidance through letters. Peace to her and those who will miss her.
