Donald Cameron Obituary

CAMERON, Donald Whiteley 74, of Brewster, MA and formerly of Boxford, MA died October 27, 2008 in Brewster. Born in New Rochelle, NY he was the son of the late George and Mildred (Whiteley) Cameron. Donald was a graduate of the University of CT, School of Engineering, Class of 1956 and was a member of honorary fraternities Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma. Upon graduating, Donald entered the General Electric Manufacturing Training Program and after 35 years of faithful service to G.E. he retired as the Senior Executive Department General Manager for the Aircraft Plant in Lynn and various satellite facilities in 1990. Donald loved to travel throughout the world and has been to all 7 continents, including Antarctica. He also loved to golf and write and was attempting to become a published author.He was very active with local community theater programs, but most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ellen K. (Cook) Cameron of Brewster, formerly of Boxford and is predeceased by a son, Donald W. Cameron Jr. In addition too his wife, Donald is survived by his daughters Laura Dapkus and her husband Kit of Gilmanton, NH and Pamela Silvagni and her husband Sanders of Manchester, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren Geoffrey, Steven, Zachary, and Michaela, a sister Dr. Hazel Johnson, and two nieces. A private funeral service will be handled by the Merton E. Roberts Jr and Conte Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, GEORGETOWN MA 01833. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
