To the Bettencourt and Shugman families,
I was so very sad to hear of Liz's passing. Seeing her at our 25th reunion of Canton High last year, she still had that big smile and joi de vivre that I'd known from high school. I am inspired by her positive attitude and inner strength through such difficult times.
May you all find comfort in the many cherished memories you surely have of Liz. My prayers are with you.

I would like to send my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Liz. I went to college with Liz and got the pleasure of getting to know her and her friends at WSC. It's sad that such a terrible disease continues to take the lives of so many truly wonderful people. I am currently the Head Coach of the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League. The NHL has taken part in Hockey Fights Cancer to generate funds and awareness to help find a cure. The Coaches have been asked to wear purple ties during certain games as we all try to help in any way possible to find cures for a disease that seems relentless. We have been asked to wear our ties tomorrow on November 2nd. I will be thinking of Liz and so many others that have fought such courageous battles. It would be an honor to wear it on her behalf.
I am truly sorry for your loss. She was such a great person.
Sincerely,
Peter Laviolette (Franklin, Ma.)

I know she will be deeply missed and I wish you all the strength and courage to keep her memory alive. God Bless.

Dear Inga. Mark, Jake and Abigail,
Liz, your daugher, wife, and mom will always stay in our memory as the young and very beautiful girl cheering Canton High School to Super Bowl victory in blizzard conditions at Foxboro Stadium. Liz continued to cheer all her life for those who had the privilege of having her touch their lives. God bless her for she fought the good fight. May the Good Lord bless and watch over all of you. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult and sad time.
Love in friendship,
Lynne & Joli

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Lizzie. This world will not be the same without her as she was one of a kind. She gave of herself so freely, always welcomed everyone with open arms, and was always so positive even at the darkest of times. My heart goes out to Mark, Jake, Abby, Inge, and her many friends as there will always be a void that cannot be filled by another. She will be truly missed.

One of the best gifts in life is to be able to touch another person’s life and give a wonderful happy piece of your self for that person to carry with them forever. Liz had this gift in abundance. Every time I would see Liz I would walk away feeling happier than before. It didn’t matter if we just bumped into each other while dropping the kids off at school or at a more formal meeting. She just seemed to add something to my day. While reminiscing the other night, my children over heard us and began to recall fond memories of there own. How truly awesome.
Liz you will be missed, obviously never forgotten, and definitely appreciated for being you.
