Sadie Samuelian Obituary

SAMUELIAN, Sadie (Malkasian) 95, of Whitinsville, died Fri., Oct. 31 at UMass Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Her husband Avedis Samuelian predeceased her. Sadie is survived by all her nieces and nephews, who were like her children; Enoch "Babe" Malkasian and his wife Claire with whom she lived, Diane Asadoorian, Marigene Balogh and her husband Franz, Hank Haghigian and his wife Yerin, David Malkasian and his wife Ruth, Bobbie Malkasian and his wife Tricia and his sisters, Deborah and Geraldine, and Janet Malkasian; nephew Phillip Malkasian predeceased her. She had 10 great nieces and nephews and nine great-great nieces and nephews. Sadie was born in Whitinsville and lived most of her life in Watertown and Belmont. She was a hairdresser working until she was almost 90. She was a graduate of Northbridge High School, was an avid knitter, rug-hooker and would sew her own clothes. She was a member of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Whitinsville and a former member of St. James Armenian Church and their Women's Guild, and AGBU. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and was an excellent cook. Her funeral will take place Wed. Nov. 5 with a service at 11:00 in the Armenian Apostolic Church on 315 Church St., Whitinsville. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Watertown. Calling hours at the funeral home in Whitinsville on Wed. Nov. 5 from 9-10:30 am.
