Dear Mamet family, our daughter just graduated from the Carroll school. She still misses coach Mamet and views him as one of the most influential adults in her life. The lessons she learned from him will be in her heart forever - about kindness, friendship , helping others , and treating everyone as equals . She will carry forth his goodness and think of him forever. Thank you

Well, I am just deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my friend Teddy. My husband and children moved to Tucson almost five years ago now and so, I only got the news this summer. We were neighbors on Pleasant Street and worked together for years at Eagle's. He was a great friend and person. When I was in college as an education major, Teddy invited me to volunteer on one of his Friday field trip days. It is one day I will never forget! Teddy was extremely sweet, funny and just really nice to be around. My thoughts of him always bring a smile to my face. He is missed. God Bless you--"his Girls".

Dear Mamet family,
My deepest condolences to your family. I too was another childhood friend of Teddy's while growing up in Dorchester. I saw him a few times later at the Eagle and was always warmly greeted. His legacy will continue through thoughts and memories of all his friends. My best to you all.

I was shocked when I found out yesterday that Teddy had passed. He went to school with my parents and he often gave me a hard time (in a good way) when I came into Eagle! The neighborhood won't be the same.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family!

What to say? Ted was one of my oldest and best childhood friends. We enjoyed many of life's learning experiences as we matured on Taft and Mayfield Streets. He is part of every one of my early life stories. We kept in touch over the years via the Eagle when I would visit my daughter for the holidays on Grant Street. Every time we met, it was as if it was only yesterday. We lightly talked of getting together for a night out and meeting each others family...Next time,Ted. To his wife and girls, I share your sorrow and wish for you the strength to endure these times.

I just recently heard of Ted's passing at a meeting I attended for all the New England Athletic Directors. When it was annouced there was an immediate reaction of disbelieve. I knew Ted professionally and always enjoyed my many interactions with him. His sense of humor and love for the kids he taught were two aspect of Ted I will always remember. I extend my deepest sympathies and regrets.

My dear colleague Ted lent a stability to The Carroll School and its inhabitants that will be very hard to replace. I miss his wonderful presence terribly. My condolences.

November 13, 2008

Our son, Sam, graduated from Carroll last year and had Ted as a teacher and coach for the three years he attended the school. Ted was the embodiment of what makes Carroll special: Patience, kindness, committment, motivation, humor, and humility. We can only imagine how that translated to his family. We were all lucky to have known him. We will miss him terribly.

I would like to start off by saying im very sorry for this terrible loss. Mr. Mamet was an amazing person. He always knew how to have a good time even when times were bad. Growing up i always hated gym but when I went to the Carroll school gym became my favorite subject. I remember every morning when me and Cari would hide in the back of the gym so we wouldnt have to leave. Of course he always found us but then we would sit there and ask as many questions as we could think of to avoid leaving. Or even the time during soccer practice when my glasses broke and he sat there for hours trying to fix it and would not give up. I know Im only one of the many others who have good memories of Mr.Mamet. He was a very loved man and I will never forget all the good times i shared with him. I wish the best of luck to his family.

To The Mamet Family

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Ted was a great man. I met Ted in 7th grade and we continued our friendship through high school and up until the last South Boston class reunion. He walked into a room and the room lit up. Everyone would get up to greet him. He always had a great sense of humor and way with people. He was taken to early in life. He had so much more to offer. I will miss my friend.

To the Mamet Family,

I was one of Ted’s students. He was great man you touch and change my life in ways in ways I am sure he never knew. I was so shy and could be best described as a wilting wallflower, I did not have the gift for sports, I lack eye and hand coordination. Nevertheless, none of that matter to Ted, he would never just let me fade away he help me to know that I could get in the game and play. If he was proud of me, I should be proud of me. He was always there for you in only the way he could be a strong hand with soft touch. I will now play any game be part of team, and stand strong and I have Ted to thank for not let me settle. Thank you. Please may you find some comfort in know that he will not forgotten my many, not only did touch the heart of his students but he change lives.

Thank you so much.

Maureen, Katelyn, Marissa and Lauren,
In the past few days since hearing that Ted pasted away I have been lost in my memories of him. The good things that he did for everyone is reflected in what all have written and will continue to write. I don't know of a more gentle and caring soul than the one Ted possessed as he walked among us. Along with the flood of memories come some of the most intense feelings and thoughts, but let me
end with this. As long as someone is alive to remember, no one ever really dies. Pass your memories and stories of Teddy along to anyone who'll listen, if we all do that in some way he'll live on forever.

I worked with Ted at the Eagle for a number of years. Always liked working with him, enjoyed time we spent on the occasional "Eagle nite out". I'll alway remember Ted's pickles. Dear Maureen, Katelyn, Marissa and Lauren,
Rita, Danny, Adam, Erika, and I are deeply saddened with Teddy's passing. Words can't express the emptiness I feel at losing my "brother" of 50+ years. I can only say the memory of knowing him all this time and sharing the goodtimes, and laughs, and friendship will help fill the void and keep him in my heart forever. If there is a heaven I know he won't be resting in peace because I'm sure he'll start landscaping and fixing up the place to his liking.
Please accept our deepset symapthy for your loss.
