James V. Doucette

DOUCETTE, James V. "Jimmy D." 90 yrs old, died Monday, Nov 10, 2008 at the St. Patricks Manor Nursing Home in Framingham where he had been a resident for almost 2 yrs. He was the husband of Eva J. ( Karacozian ) Doucette of Saxonville. They had been married for the past 67 yrs. James was born in Boston, son of the late Freeman and Mary E. (Power) Doucette and had been a resident of Saxonville since 1956. He was a high voltage electrical cable splicer for the James Sugden Company of Boston for 35 yrs. He was an active member and friend of Bill W. for 43 yrs and for 40 yrs was the treasuer of the Wednesday night meeting at St. George's in Saxonville. In addition, he was a WW 2 decorated veteran with the US Army, having received the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon, and the Victory Medal.He served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. Besides his wife, James is survived by 1 son, James F. Doucette of Newton, 2 daughters Martha D. Woodin of Upton, Dianne M. Herdon and her husband Robert of Clovis, CA, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews, and brother of the late John Doucette and Florence Rushton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov 13, 2008 at 10 am in St. George's Church, 74 School St, Saxonville, ( Framingham ). Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St, FRAMINGHAM are on Wednesday, Nov 12, 2008 from 4-8 pm.
