SISTER MARY L. SHEA, CSJ (Sister Raphael) a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston for 69 years, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008. Daughter of the late Patrick Joseph and Julia Ann (Mahoney) Shea. Sister of the late John F. Shea. Formerly missioned as a high school teacher at Sacred Heart, W. Lynn; Our Lady Help of Christians, Newton; Mt. St. Joseph Academy, Brighton; Gate of Heaven, South Boston; Cathedral, Boston; as a Guidance Councilor and Principal at St. Clement High School, Somerville; and as Executive Director and Social Worker at Middlesex Addiction Services. Visiting hours at Holy Spirit Chapel, Bethany Health Care Center, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham, Thursday, November 13, 2008, 3:30-6:00p.m. Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Mass. Prayers of Final Commendation at Bethany Friday, November 14, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery, Framingham. Arrangements by Norton Funeral Home, FRAMINGHAM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sisters of Saint Joseph, c/o Mission Advancement, 637 Cambridge St., Brighton, MA 02135

We fondly remember good times and conversation with Mary and Marie. Our favorite Mary story is her being called the 'Somerville Slugger' for her baseball prowess in her youth.
